Chicken and Rice also known as Chick Pulao or Murgh Pulao. Chicken and rice is mildly spicy and it is not heavy at all like chiken bariyani. There are several way to make chicken pulao. Some of these recipes used coconut milk as well and some recipes just add traditional indian spices like we did in this recipe. You can serve it with onion and tomato ratita with some fresh salad.
1 chicken breast cut it into small chunks
1 medium size onion chopped
½ cup of vegetable oil
1 tbsp of garlic and ginger paste
2 to 3 green chilies
1/3 tsp of red chili powder
¼ tsp of salt
½ cup of peas(optional)
2 cups of long grain rice soaked for about 2to 4 hours
4 cups of water
1 tsp of salt
½ tsp of all spice mixture(Garam Masala)
Take a big pot and heat up the vegetable oil on medium heat. Add chopped onions in it and cook onions until they turn golden in color. Then add ginger and garlic paste and mix it. Add salt, red chili powder and green chilies. Now add chicken into it and cook the chicken until fully cooked through. Add peas and mix them. If you want to make just matar pluao you can follow our recipe. Add 4 cups of water. Cover the lid and let the water mixture to come to a boil. when water comes to a boil start adding rice to it. Mix rice and water mixture, add salt and all spice mix. Stir it. Close the lid and let them cook until the water get reduced. Switch the burner to low flame, close the lid and let the rice cook for 15 minutes. then switch off the burner and serve the warm and delicious chicken pulao right away.
